My favorite way to store pantry foods is in containers. It's easy to get flours and sugars from a large pantry container, and they keep snacks fresh.

Over the years, I've used two different acrylic storage containers in my pantry: OXO Pop Containers and the Better Homes & Gardens Flip-Tite Container.

Today, I'll give you the pros and cons of using the OXO Pop Containers and the Better Homes & Gardens Flip-Tite Container in your pantry.

Searching for good a pantry container? Here's a review of the two containers I have in my kitchen: the OXO Pop and the BHG Flip-Tite.

Air Tightness

The design of the OXO Pop Containers looks air-tight. However, I've found it very easy to pull the top off without popping the mechanism. In comparison, the flip lever on the BHG Flip-Tite does the job without losing the seal.

Style

Both containers have a sleek modern look and are both see-through and stackable. The biggest difference is that the OXO Pop Containers has a level top and the BHG Flip-Tite indents for the lever. I think the OXO Pop's acrylic looks slightly higher quality. But I've seen more cracks in the OXO Pop Containers. I haven't experienced any yet in the BHG Flip-Tite.

Sizes

Both containers come in different sizes and shapes —squares, rectangles, cylinders, and cookie jars. But the OXO Pop containers have a wider variety of shapes and sizes.

Price & Availability

OXO Pop Containers are sold nearly everywhere —from Macy's to Amazon to HomeGoods, and even Costco. BHG Flip-Tite containers are sold exclusively at Walmart and bhg.com. However, the BHG Flip-Tite containers are sold at a much lower price, which helps if you're on a budget.

For instance, the 4.4 Qt OXO Pop runs at $18.95 on Amazon versus the comparable 16 cup BHG Flip-Tite at $8.88. I have found OXO Pop containers at discount stores (like HomeGoods). While the price point is lower, the sizes are limited and the containers are often damaged.

My choice for pantry container

Overall, I've been happier with the BHG Flip-Tite. I prefer the tight seal (and the price!).

With so many containers to choose from, I hope this post will help you narrow which pantry containers will work for your kitchen.
